He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this... I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years...
It's still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit.
So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn't fall.
Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn. I've been around a long time.
I've withstood a lot of life's storms. I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning at times.
Sometimes we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness, leaning toward hatred, leaning toward cussing, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't . So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.''

Merry CHRISTmas from our house to yours!
Have you picked up your gift from Jesus?
There's a gift waiting for you...open it.
Wednesday, December 24, 2008
'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to crawl into bed.
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose such a clatter.
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be THE DAY!
The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "it's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound.
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all!

In Why Forgive? Arnold lets the untidy experiences of ordinary people speak for themselves—people who have earned the right to talk about overcoming hurt, and about the peace of mind they have found in doing so.
Why Forgive? examines life's more mundane battle scars as well: the persistent hobgoblins of backbiting, gossip, strained family ties, marriages gone cold, and tensions in the workplace. As in life, not every story has a happy ending—a fact Arnold refuses to skirt. The book also addresses the difficulty of forgiving oneself, the futility of blaming God, and the turmoil of those who simply cannot forgive, even though they try.

In the original creation, God made male and female to be together. Because of this, a man leaves father and mother, and in marriage he becomes one flesh with a woman—no longer two individuals, but forming a new unity. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart."

Eight little Christians on their way to heaven,
Six little Christians seemed very much alive,
Four little Christians, each busy as a bee,
Two little Christians, our rhyme is nearly done,
Two earnest Christians, each won one more,
Eight little Christians, if they doubled as before,

It's about every drop that flowed from Him
When it should have been me
Who Is The Empowered Woman?
The Empowered woman is not satisfied with an ordinary life. She continually challenges herself and all she comes in contact with to take day to day living to the next level. She seeks a deeper relationship with her maker and with the family and friends that she holds dear to her heart. She is strong, confident, and savvy. She makes important decisions based on solid facts, yet still allows her heart to guide her. She continually strives towards a balanced life full of meaning and service to others. She does not allow fear, the opinion of others, or past failures to get in the way of achieving her God given destiny. She lives for an audience of one. She is EMPOWERED through grace daily.

Don't they know
He made the snow
He made the stars,
He gave the gifts
Without Him, we'd be adrift
Why did they take the Christ out of Christmas?
Can't they see
He's all they need
He calms the soul
He's in control
Why did they let that part go?
Why did they take the Christ out of Christmas?
It's what the season
Is all about
He's what we cannot
Please don't take the Christ out of Christmas
We're rushing, shopping
But without Him
We're not really living
How did we forget the manger scene?
Or what that quiet night really means
The star and angel at the top of the tree
Is not as far as we should see
The tinsel, the lights
The reindeer, the sleigh
None of these things can show us the way
How did the story about Joseph and Mary
Get shoved aside for the gifts that we carry?
Somehow we reject Him again and again
Its hard to find even three wise men
Why did the stores get crowded and rushed
When did we lose the desire for His touch?
Amid Holiday sales
Everywhere that you see
We forget the most priceless gift is still free
It lasts forever; in your heart it will stay
You don't have to return anything the next day
As you gather with family
On Christmas Eve
Make sure His love
Is the gift you receive
As you pause and reflect
On that cold, wintry night
Please don't forget
Why we all must fight....
To keep the Christ in our Christmas
