Down Pour Of The Streams Of His Mercy

There are times when the pressures
& busyness of life leave my spirit
worn out and dry. And my parched
soul cries for a drink and a respite
from the mundane that I see with
my eyes.

So I lift up my hands in worship and
praise to the King who granted me
grace. I adore Him for everything
and all that He is as tears start to
flow down my face.

My exhaustion gives way to the
Ancient of Days to the Immortal...
Invisible King. And the oil of true
worship washes over my spirit
through the offering of praise that
I bring.

Then I am reminded of my adoption
through Christ...my identity that
none can take away, Of my forgiven
transgressions...and the Lamb who
paid the price so I could stand in
freedom today.

My heart stops to honor the One who
is worthy of every respect I could
give to His name. For He's the Giver
of mercy who saved me from death
and lifted me up from my shame.

My soul finds refreshment in looking
away from the temporary....to the
eternal that never fades. And I stand in
the downpour of the streams of His mercy
and find rest from the heat in His shade.
