Satan, Bite the Dust!

Satan, Bite the Dust! ~ Carman

C'mon Christians - walk in your authority!
It's your God-Given right.
Take a look at this example of the authority of a believer as compared to the authority of our earthly law enforcement system shared at http://www.characterbuildingforfamilies.com/

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ~ Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV

Here's a 61 page pdf document on The Authority of the Believer; it has been put together by http://www.virtualbibleschool.com/

While you are there, you may want to check out the Bible Affirmation Library. It's a free resource library, where you can type in your name and have a Bible verse personalized. Categories include: worthiness, wealth, understanding, transformation, the way, sowing and reaping, Son shine, healthcare, qualified and security. A unique way to read and apply God's Word to your life; be sure to print it out for your convenience.

It's so important to know about what the Bible says about 'who God is' and 'who you are in Christ'
~ it's time for you to walk in your God-Given Authority and Destiny!

Shine for JESUS!

Being a Christian is
Like Being a Pumpkin

God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff ~ including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts HIS LIGHT inside you to SHINE for all the world to see.
(c) Author Unknown

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

Celebrating God's Enemy?

holiday = holy + day

On October 31st, millions of people around the world celebrate Halloween. Many view it as harmless fun, where kids dress up in costumes, going from door to door asking for candy.

Although it is a holiday that generally glorifies the dark things of the world, rather than the light of Christ.

Introducing 'The Marriage Code'

~ Bill & Pam Farrel's newest book!

"Marriages operate by a code — a collection of key words, actions, insights, and attitudes that determine how a couple’s relationship works. When that code is uncovered, love grows and flourishes. If that code remains a mystery, love gets buried behind misunderstandings and irritations.

The Marriage Code is for every couple who wants to know just how good their relationship can be. As both partners grow in relationship with God and rely on the Spirit for insights into the heart of their mate, they can replace their old, selfish codes with a new one that leads to greater intimacy in every area of life."

Set Apart

Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. ~ Psalm 4:3 NIV

The Streets or Their Dreams

The city—and all of its negative influences—is all these kids have ever known … and they think of it as their friend. Now Rey, Korina, Marcus, and Anthony must face the toughest decision of their lives: Is the hope of redemption enough to lure them away from the streets?

Combining the action and excitement of a Western with the laughter of a comedy, Set Apart is a poignant coming-of-age drama about true friendship.

8 Ways to Pray for Your Spouse

"...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever!" ~ 2 Peter 3:18

One of the most loving things we can do is to PRAY DAILY for our spouse.

1. Pray Jesus will bless your spouse today in some unexpected way.

2. Pray Jesus will allow you to be a source of joy to your spouse today.

3. Pray Jesus will soften (or keep soft) his heart towards you and others.

4. Pray Jesus will heal the hurts from his past, let him forgive, and give him peace.

5. Pray Jesus will keep your spouse from all harm this day.

6. Pray Jesus will allow him to use all the gifts and talents He gave him.

7. Pray Jesus will rule on the throne of his heart this entire day.

8. Pray that Jesus will fulfill every intention He has for his life, for the Glory of God.

“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you.” ~ 1 Samuel 12:23

10 Commandments of the Tongue

(1) Thou shalt not gossip. Prov. 18:8 Before any evil story whispered in the ear is passed on, it should be treated as the housewife treats apples for a pie ... first peeled, then quartered, and cored, then what remains liberally sugared.

(2) Thou shalt not use a multitude of empty words. Prov. 10:19. Your tongue reveals the nature of your thinking and your character. The divine Master Himself admonishes the children of men to "let your admonishes be yea, yea, nay, nay, for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."

(3) Thou shalt not boast. Prov. 27:2 A small man makes long, loud boasting in order to center the spotlight of attention on himself; the great man works quietly, Silently polishing the beacon that it may guide the ship safely into the desired haven.

(4) Thou shalt not flatter. Prov. 26:28 Someone has said that "Flattery is like soft soap; it is 90% lye" - and you can count on the ratio being just about right. The words of the man or woman who would flatter you, according to the psalmist, who had a great deal of experience with that sort of thing, are "softer than oil, yet withdrawn swords."

(5) Thou shalt not grumble. Phil. 2:14 The prescription for this malady is to saturate your life with loving kindness. Let it enter every pore and the process will be absolutely foolproof against the gnawing frets and worries that are worse than termites, to eat the soul out of you.

(6) Thou shalt not backbite or slander. Psalm 64:3 The tongue that backbites or slanders is the weapon that empties churches, pours streams of bickering humans into divorce courts, fills our jails with wretched humanity, and lashes men and woman to Satan's kingdom.

(7) Thou shalt not mock or make fun. Job 11:3 Let us learn sympathy and give our fellows a helping hand instead of mockery, no matter how peculiar or odd they may be. Remember angels visit the earth in all kinds of guises.

(8) Thou shalt not lie. Ex. 20:16 The first recorded lie was told in the garden of Eden. Since then, the practice has spread like a plague throughout the whole earth. Everyone hates a lying tongue.

(9) Thou shalt not swear. Ex. 20:7 Profanity is the official language of the devil's kingdom. Have no part in it for it will disqualify you for heaven.

(10) Thou shalt not argue in anger. Hosea 7:16 Whatever the provocation is remember that "silence is golden" and that "a soft answer turneth away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger" Prov. 15:11

GoD And DoG

Monday, October 26, 2009

God And DoG ~ by Wendy Francisco

This is an amazing song; too good not to share. It is a song that will make you think. GoD And DoG reminds me of the saying,"A dog is a man's best friend."

This song is a great tool to share with others, especially those who don't have a relationship with the Lord. People can easily understand the unconditional love that a dog brings to it's owner and his family. This song might just be the tool that some need to help them relate to the love that God has to offer in a relationship with Him. The song also clearly shows how God will respond to those who have drifted away from their relationship with the Lord...when they make the choice to return to Him.

Would love to hear your thoughts! enJOY!!

A Little Walk Around Yourself

Saturday, October 17, 2009

When you're criticizing others
And are finding here and there
A fault or two to speak of
Or a weakness you can't bear.
When you're blaming someone's weakness
Or accusing some of self...
It's time that you went out
To walk around yourself.

There are lots of human failures
In the average of us all.
And lots of grave shortcomings.
In the short ones and the tall.
But when we think of evils
Men should lay upon the shelves,
It's time we all went out
To take a walk around ourselves.

We need so often in this life
This balancing of scales.
This seeing how much in us wins,
And how much in us fails.
But before you judge another
Just to lay him on the shelf...
It would be a splendid plan
To take a walk around yourself.

T-R-U-S-T

Friday, October 16, 2009

“T” stands for trust…which means that if you are going to trust Him, you have to take Him at His word. Even if it seems like it is not true, you take Him at His word. If we will take Him at His word, He will guide us through the course of life and bring us across the finish line safely.

“R” stands for rest. The Bible tells us to rest in the Lord. 1 Peter 5:7 says, Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Do not worry. Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but you don’t get anywhere.

“U” stands for understanding. Proverbs 3:5 says, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Sometimes things just won’t make sense to your understanding.

“S” stands for speech. Our speech is an expression of our faith. In Mark 11, Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” And then the very next thing Jesus said is, “Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Our faith in God is expressed through our speech.

The final “T” stands for thanksgiving. We offer thanks to God in advance. Philippians 4:6 says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. When we offer thanks to God, it is an expression of our faith.

That’s T-R-U-S-T!

35 Reasons NOT To Sin

Because a little sin leads to more sin.

Because my sin invites the discipline of God.

Because the time spent in sin is forever wasted.

Because my sin never pleases but always grieves God who loves me.

Because my sin places a greater burden on my spiritual leaders.

Because in time my sin always brings heaviness to my heart.

Because I am doing what I do not have to do.

Because my sin always makes me less than what I could be.

Because others, including my family, suffer consequences due to my sin.

Because my sin saddens the godly.

Because my sin makes the enemies of God rejoice.

Because sin deceives me into believing I have gained when in reality I have lost.

Because sin may keep me from qualifying for spiritual leadership.

Because the supposed benefits of my sin will never outweigh the consequences of disobedience.

Because repenting of my sin is such a painful process, yet I must repent.

Because sin is a very brief pleasure for an eternal loss.

Because my sin may influence others to sin.

Because my sin may keep others from knowing Christ.

Because sin makes light of the cross, upon which Christ died for the very purpose of taking away my sin.

Because it is impossible to sin and follow the Spirit at the same time.

Because God chooses not to respect the prayers of those who cherish their sin.

Because sin steals my reputation and robs me of my testimony.

Because others once more earnest than I have been destroyed by just such sins.

Because the inhabitants of heaven and hell would all testify to the foolishness of this sin.

Because sin and guilt may harm both mind and body.

Because sins mixed with service make the things of God tasteless.

Because suffering for sin has no joy or reward, though suffering for righteousness has both.

Because my sin is adultery with the world.

Because, though forgiven, I will review this very sin at the Judgment Seat where loss and gain of eternal rewards are applied.

Because I can never really know ahead of time just how severe the discipline for my sin might be.

Because my sin may be an indication of a lost condition.

Because to sin is not to love Christ.

Because my unwillingness to reject this sin now grants it an authority over me greater than I wish to believe.

Because sin glorifies God only in His judgment of it and His turning of it to good use, never because it is worth anything on it's own.

Because I promised God he would be Lord of my life.

Mountain Moving FAITH

Saturday, October 10, 2009

"'...Not by might, not by power, but by My spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." ~ Zechariah 4:6

The mountains are moved by My spirit and by My power. So why is it that you look at the mountain that blocks your path and you say to yourself "I cannot move that"? Of course you can not! You were never expected to. It is always My spirit that moves the mountains.

Do not look at the obstacles that lay before you. Look rather to Me, for I am able to move all mountains and I am able to deal with all obstacles. You cannot do it in your own strength, and you were never expected to. So lean on Me and draw from My strength.

Watch Me and see how I will glorify My name in your situations. I have permitted obstacles to come before some of My own. For others, I have actually caused them to come, that they might be forced to put their trust wholeheartedly in Me.

The bigger the obstacle, the larger the measure of faith that will be granted to you, if you come to Me and ask Me for it. Dear child, I desire to show you how capable I am. I desire to demonstrate to you that I am trustworthy. And I want you to look to Me, not to your own resources.

This is a time and a season where I am causing many of My children to learn to walk by faith. That is why I am allowing the obstacles to come before you.

I desire that you come to Me for direction, and I desire that you wait on Me for My timing. My timing is not your timing. You almost always want it NOW rather than in My timing. So change your way and trust Me to know the times and seasons. Trust Me to work My glory in each of your situations.

Child of Mine, My glory and transformation do not come without a price, for I demand your complete commitment to Me. I expect total obedience.

I expect you to cooperate with Me as I work deep in your hearts and souls to mold you into the image of My Son. But in return for giving Me lordship in your life, you will see an increase in your ability to hear My voice clearly. You will see an increase in My anointing upon you. You will see yourself walking in a larger measure of My authority.

You will see the mountains that are before move into the sea, so that they no longer be an obstacle before your path as you walk in My ways.

So, do not look to the mountains and do not look to the obstacles.
Look to Me! Then you will see Me glorify My name in your midst.

Being REAL!

You are like whitewashed tombs...
Matthew 23:27 NKJV

Marybeth Whalen writes: "The painters painted the wall leading downstairs… A week later I discovered while the wall had been repainted, the habits hadn't changed. The kids were still… dragging their dirty hands behind them, making what was white and clean, grey and dirty… Like that wall, if I'm not careful I can cover up what's there… wear the Christian T-shirt, carry my Bible, smile like everything's great, and talk a good game about my walk with the Lord, but deep inside the ugly old habits are… waiting to be revealed the moment life gets messy… I can become a modern-day Pharisee who focuses on the whitewash… and ignores the dirty stuff underneath."

In Bible times tombs were whitewashed on the outside to disguise the death and decay inside. Jesus told the Pharisees: "People look at you and think you're saints, but beneath the skin you're total frauds" (Matthew 23:28 TM). Acting like a Pharisee saying, "I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else" (Luke 18:11 NLT), precludes grace, mercy and compassion. We live in an appearance-driven society and Jesus understood the danger that comes from focusing on looks instead of your spiritual condition. So, how do you stop it from happening?

A) Follow Jesus' example. He specialized in ministering to the broken, the forgotten, the lost and the lonely .

B) Never forget that while you may be a Christian, you'll still struggle in certain areas.

C) Ask God to reveal behavior patterns that are appearance-orientated instead of heart-orientated.

D) Surround yourself with transparent people who lift you when you fall and encourage you to be real.

Are You Unsatisfied With Your Spiritual Life?

Thursday, October 08, 2009

More than 1/4 of church-going believers admit that their spiritual lives are stagnant or dissatisfying. The Naked Gospel says so many are stalled because of the shallow “fluff’ they’re getting. Farley says we're peddling a gospel that is compromised and virtually powerless to change lives after the initial salvation experience. The Naked Gospel offers a fresh perspective on grace and shows how to live uprightly, confidently, and without the guilt.

God Sets a Divine Stage

Saturday, October 03, 2009

There are times when life is bigger than you

and tears fall for it’s incredibly rough.

Such are the seasons you search hard for reasons

while God says his grace is enough.

When life deals a loss you never saw coming

and broken pieces lie all over the floor,

You weep as you struggle to put it back together

but God’s faithfulness means even more.

When your health is threatened and you feel shaken

not knowing the next thing to do,

God takes your broken prayers, mingled with teardrops

then offers His wisdom to you.

When your child is handicapped & your whole life changes

to be a caregiver both day and night,

God fills you with strength and mountains of love

and courage for every long fight.

When you’re unemployed much longer than you hoped

and life is hanging by the smallest of threads,

God will bring you to the brink – then give you more faith

to show He’s your provider instead.

When you enter into years of loneliness and solitude

with no voice in the house but your own,

God will bless you and cover you…and keep you company

granting peace to the place you call home.

For what we don’t know at the onset of our trials

is God sets a divine stage long before,

And He’s waiting in the circumstance to give us what we need

when our tears fall like rain on the floor.
