By Sylvia Gunter

The world's in a mess! And Jesus is the answer!

One of the greatest things about prayer is that you can be a prayer missionary anywhere. In prayer there are no "closed" nations. You have full rights to intercede for any nation that God places on your heart, regardless of what the government of that nation says about God.

Using this prayer strategy, in as little as a few minutes, you can go in prayer to any country in the world and pray for God to show His glory in that location. You can also use this same well-rounded prayer prompter to pray for hours, if God directs you.

So grab your passport (your identity in Christ), your carry-on luggage (your Bible), and a map or a newspaper and see where God wants to send you today.

7 x 7 - Prayer Principles

Multiplied 7 Days A Week For The World

1. Lift up Jesus as Lord to the glory of the Father and acknowledge His sovereignty, rule, and authority in your life, in the whole earth, and in a particular country. Glorify the King of kings. God reigns, Ps. 47:8. His dominion endures, Ps. 145:11-13.

2. By the blood of Jesus and in His all-powerful name, in prayer stand against all spiritual forces that are operating in the country to blind it, bind it, and hold it captive. Claim that the name of the LORD subjugates every opposing ruling power and causes every knee to bow in submission to His rule and authority. Eph. 1:21-22, Phi. 2:9-11.

3. Pray for the Spirit of God to open the heavens over a specific area or country. Pray for a Holy Spirit breakthrough over the traditional religious systems that dominate. Confess idolatry and sins of the nation/peoples. Rend the heavens and come down, Isaiah 64:1-4.

4. Pray for an awakened church John 17. A spirit of humility, repentance, and revival 2 Chronicles 7:14 For the church to move in unity, love, and power of the Spirit John 17:23, 24, 26

5. Pray for pastors and Christian leaders who are God-anointed, God-appointed, and God-empowered and for a mighty movement of intercessory prayer that is aggressive in spiritual warfare. God's protection and will John 17:4, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 For use of spiritual weapons 2 Corinthians 10:3-4

6. Pray for political leaders to repent, receive salvation, and govern righteously and for the "most unlikely" unrighteous men to be converted and become radical disciples. Pray for Christians in leadership to know their God and stand strong in the fear of the Lord. Pray for all in authority - 1 Timothy 2:1-4 For just men to rule in the fear of the Lord - 2 Samuel 23:3

7. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to reap multitudes for spiritual awakening and salvation and that new believers will be strong, growing disciples in the Lord. God is not willing for any to perish 2 Peter 3:9 That God's provision for sin be applied to the need of all those who do not know the Savior John 17:25 That children and youth hear the gospel and learn the character of God and go forth as the "sent ones" Mark 10:14-15

Father, glorify Your name in all the earth.

Power Over the Enemy

Thursday, February 26, 2009

There’s power, and then there’s power! In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The word “power” is stated twice – but it has two different meanings.

The first “power” is from the Greek word exousia and it has the meaning of authority. The second “power” is from the Greek word dunamis. We get the English word for “dynamite” from this word. Jesus is saying that He has given us authority over the force of the enemy!

We cannot defeat the devil with strength. We can only defeat him with our God-given authority.

Is Satan wiser than you? Yes, but with a perverted wisdom. Is he stronger than you? Yes, but with a malevolent strength. Is Satan more powerful than you? Yes, but you can stop him when you stand against him with the authority God has given you. And he knows that!

When you begin to fight your battles, don’t attempt to fight them in your own strength, but rather in God’s strength. It is then that you will begin to see Satan cower before you! Because “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”

The authority of the Almighty is available to you! It’s not by might, it’s not by power, but its by my Spirit says the Lord!

Take some tme to enJOY these past issues as well; and be encouraged!

Come What May

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

If you have already picked up the Special Collector's Edition of FIREPROOF, then you are probably aware of this new movie that is being released on DVD on March 17th...if not, please read on.

'Come What May' tackles the real-life issue, "When Does Life Really Begin?"

The movie focuses on college students Caleb and Rachel who are working together to win the Moot Court national championship. For that to happen, however, Caleb first has to come to grips with what he believes ... and what he believes will win. Wherever he lands will have consequences. If he takes the pro-life argument, he stands to lose the most important competition of his life—and the support of his mother. If he follows his mother's lead, he could win the coveted title ... but lose the heart of Rachel in the process.

This powerful drama is a vivid reminder that choosing what's right is never easy ... but it's always worth the cost.

Be sure to check out http://www.comewhatmaythemovie.com/

Beginning March 17th, you can purchase 'Come What May' at your local Christian bookstore or online. And just like FIREPROOF, your church can purchase a site license to show the film in your community.

Victory Through Faith

Monday, February 23, 2009

Since the first Sunday of this year, we (WFA.org) have been sharing in the series “Victory is Mine in 2009!” Perhaps the most important sermon in the series is this week’s concluding message, “Victory Through Faith!” Overarching everything we have shared so far, the element of our personal faith is the ultimate key to our victory!

In 1 John 5:4, we read “This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” The early disciples recognized the need for great faith, when in Luke 17 they say to Jesus, “Increase our faith!” What was Jesus’ response to their request? He said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”

A careful examination of that passage demonstrates a very important point. The disciples thought they needed more faith, as they asked the Lord for an increase. But, that’s not at all what they needed. Jesus essentially tells them that if they just use what they already had, they could do miraculous things!

And that’s the exact point. The key to our victory is not to somehow get more faith. It is to use the faith we have. Victory is not found in some quantity of faith or belief in Christ. Rather, it’s in what we do with what we have and what we do for Jesus! Don’t miss this dynamic concluding message, as together we discover how we can indeed have “Victory Through Faith!”

If you missed the other recordings from the 'Victory is Mine in 2009' series, you are welcome to download them and save the mp3 files to your computer.

Why Did Jesus Fold the Napkin?

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I never noticed this....

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes.

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that stony coffin.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.

She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!'

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple out ran Peter and got there first. He stopped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely!

Is it really significant? Yes!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it.

The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished.

Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table.

The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, "I'm done."

But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because..........

The folded napkin meant, "I'm coming back!"

He is Coming Back!!

To Meet Such a Man

Monday, February 16, 2009

I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company were both especially good that day.

As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town, was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, 'I will work for food.' My heart sank.

I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

We continued with our meal, but his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them. I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the strange visitor. I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him I made some purchases at a store and got back in my car.

Deep within me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: 'Don't go back to the office until you've at least driven once more around the square.'

Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I turned the square's third corner, I saw him. He was standing on the steps of the store front church, going through his sack.

I stopped and looked; feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God: an invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town's newest visitor.

'Looking for the pastor?' I asked.

'Not really,' he replied, 'just resting.'

'Have you eaten today?'

'Oh, I ate something early this morning.'

'Would you like to have lunch with me?'

'Do you have some work I could do for you?'

'No work,' I replied. 'I commute here to work from the city, but I would like to take you to lunch.'

'Sure,' he replied with a smile.

As he began to gather his things, I asked some surface questions. Where you headed?'

' St. Louis '

'Where you from?'

'Oh, all over; mostly Florida '

'How long you been walking?'

'Fourteen years,' came the reply.

I knew I had met someone unusual. We sat across from each other in the same restaurant I had left earlier His face was weathered slightly beyond his 38 years. His eyes were dark yet clear, and he spoke with an eloquence and articulation that was startling. He removed his jacket to reveal a bright red
T-shirt that said, 'Jesus is The Never Ending Story.'

Then Daniel's story began to unfold. He had seen rough times early in life. He'd made some wrong choices and reaped the consequences. Fourteen years earlier, while backpacking across the country, he had stopped on the beach in Daytona. He tried to hire on with some men who were putting up a large tent and some equipment. A concert, he thought.

He was hired, but the tent would not house a concert but revival services, and in those services he saw life more clearly. He gave his life over to God

'Nothing's been the same since,' he said, 'I felt the Lord telling me to keep walking, and so I did, some 14 years now.'

'Ever think of stopping?' I asked.

'Oh, once in a while, when it seems to get the best of me But God has given me this calling. I give out Bibles. That's what's in my sack. I work to buy food and Bibles, and I give them out when His Spirit leads.'

I sat amazed. My homeless friend was not homeless. He was on a mission and lived this way by choice. The question burned inside for a moment and then I asked: 'What's it like?'

'What? '

'To walk into a town carrying all your things on your back and to show your sign?'

'Oh, it was humiliating at first. People would stare and make comments. Once someone tossed a piece of half-eaten bread and made a gesture that certainly didn't make me feel welcome. But then it became humbling to realize that God was using me to touch lives and change people's concepts of other folks like me.'

My concept was changing, too. We finished our dessert and gathered his things. Just outside the door, he paused. He turned to me and said, 'Come Ye blessed of my Father and inherit the kingdom I've prepared for you. For when I was hungry you gave me food , when I was thirsty you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in.'

I felt as if we were on holy ground. 'Could you use another Bible?' I asked.

He said he preferred a certain translation. It traveled well and was not too heavy. It was also his personal favorite. 'I've read through it 14 times,' he said.

'I'm not sure we've got one of those, but let's stop by our church and see'. I was able to find my new friend a Bible that would do well, and he seemed very grateful.

'Where are you headed from here?' I asked.

'Well, I found this little map on the back of this amusement park coupon.'

'Are you hoping to hire on there for awhile?'

'No, I just figure I should go there. I figure someone under that star right there needs a Bible, so that's where I'm going next.'

He smiled, and the warmth of his spirit radiated the sincerity of his mission. I drove him back to the town-square where we'd met two hours earlier, and as we drove, it started raining. We parked and unloaded his things.

'Would you sign my autograph book?' he asked. 'I like to keep messages from folks I meet.'

I wrote in his little book that his commitment to his calling had touched my life. I encouraged him to stay strong. And I left him with a verse of scripture from Jeremiah, 'I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you a future and a hope.'

'Thanks, man,' he said. 'I know we just met and we're really just strangers, but I love you.'

'I know,' I said, 'I love you, too.' 'The Lord is good!'

'Yes, He is. How long has it been since someone hugged you?' I asked.

'A long time,' he replied

And so on the busy street corner in the drizzling rain, my new friend and I embraced, and I felt deep inside that I had been changed. He put his things on his back, smiled his winning smile and said, 'See you in the New
Jerusalem .'

'I'll be there!' was my reply.

He began his journey again. He headed away with his sign dangling from his bedroll and pack of Bibles. He stopped, turned and said, 'When you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

'You bet,' I shouted back, 'God bless.'

'God bless.' And that was the last I saw of him.

Late that evening as I left my office, the wind blew strong. The cold front had settled hard upon the town. I bundled up and hurried to my car. As I sat back and reached for the emergency brake, I saw them... a pair of well-worn brown work gloves neatly laid over the length of the handle. I picked them up and thought of my friend and wondered if his hands would stay warm that night without them.

Then I remembered his words: 'If you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

Today his gloves lie on my desk in my office. They help me to see the world and its people in a new way, and they help me remember those two hours with my unique friend and to pray for his ministry. 'See you in the New Jerusalem,' he said. Yes, Daniel, I know I will...

Your husband wants you to be…

"This challenge is for the MARRIED ladies & their HUBBIES.
The rest of you have to sit this one out."
~ Diaper Diaries

With all the focus in the Christian community on the Proverbs 31 woman, diaper diaries is kicking it up a notch focusing on a verse that many women are quick to overlook...let's talk about sex, baby!

Or rather, the LACK of it...going on in many marriages today.

So do not deprive each other of sexual relations. The only exception to this rule would be the agreement of both husband and wife to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time, so they can give themselves more completely to prayer. Afterward they should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt them because of their lack of self-control. (1 Cor. 7:5 NLT)

Every Monday, a new challenge will be posted at The Diaper Diaries, to encourage each wife to take a more active role in the sexual aspect of her marriage.

It's never to late to start. So what do you think? Are you in?

You can start here.

Go check it out!

P.S. - No more excuses...she already has them all listed! lol

FREE Christian Audiobook

Saturday, February 07, 2009

Christian Audio's free audiobook of the month is called Not For Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade and How We Can Fight It, written by David Batstone.

The book originated from Batstone's encounter with modern-day slaves in his hometown of San Francisco. A local restaurant he frequented for several years was exposed as a trafficking ring for children from India. This shocking incident sent him on a search, domestically and abroad, to get to the bottom of the issue.

Did You Know?
* 27 million people are enslaved today
* 800,000 people are trafficked (bought & sold) across international borders each year
* 50% of these victims are children
* 4 of 5 are female
* 150, 000 slaves are in our own backyards!

You can learn more by joining The Underground, an email list for the Not for Sale Campaign, a movement of regular people who have joined together to end slavery in our lifetime. This campaign was inspired by the book Not for Sale.

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived what God
has prepared for those who love him"
1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV

Hello Faithful Friends!

As I reflect on the above Scripture, I have to smile...
especially when I read "no mind has conceived..."

When I was a kid, my dream was to be married, have children and to be an elementary school teacher...plain and simple. And in all honesty...I even had doubts about achieving those few things.

Never (and I mean NEVER) did I see myself having an online ministry NOR did I see myself being so BOLD for Jesus.

Are you surprised? :) I am!

I am in awe at how completely different my life is now, as compared to even a few years ago...but, especially since accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior ( a little over 10 years ago).

I am so thankful that God had a much BIGGER plan for my life than I had ever hoped for...

So, I invite you to "come hear my heart"
~ come have an "inside look" ~
at what God has prepared for me...

Tuesday, February 3rd at 11 am EST

Hosted by Dr. Randy Peck & Dr. Jerry Graham

Please feel free to invite your friends.

Hope to see you there!!!
