Because of the importance of the Ten Commandments, it might be helpful to have a quick way to bring them to mind. The following method uses the first four words of:
Exodus 20:2: “I am the Lord.”
I dolatry…..Don’t worship idols (vv. 4-6)
A dultery….Don’t commit adultery (v. 14)
M urder….Don’t commit murder (v. 13)
T aking….Don’t steal (v. 15)
H onor…Obey your parents (v. 12)
E nvy…Don’t covet what isn’t yours (v. 17)
L ying…Don’t give false testimony (v. 16)
O ther gods…Don’t worship other gods (v. 3)
R est…Rest on the Sabbath (vv. 8-11)
D isrespect…Don’t misuse God’s name (v. 7)
