Dear Pastor,
Like clockwork, I used to skip the same Sunday worship service each year.
While my husband and I were (not-so) patiently waiting on God’s timing to have children, Mother’s Day was the day I dreaded the most.
From the picture of the mother cuddling a newborn on the church bulletin cover to the distribution of pink carnations to all mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and so forth – Mother’s Day worship services were one mega-dose of sadness, and if I’m being honest, resentment.
So, from a young(ish) mother acquainted with the sorrows of both miscarriage and infertility, here are two thoughts to consider as you plan your upcoming worship services.
